Becoming a Specialist - Words from our Pinterest Guru

Blog Pinterest

Well, it’s official, I might be the last person on the planet to write a blog post!  Sheesh! Time to join the club!

So here goes;

My name is Kristin Blomquist.  I have six children. I work at Chiro For Moms (best place to work ever).  My title is Pinterest Specialist. Huh???????

As of two months ago, I had no idea how to create, design, upload, link, draft, schedule, or do anything besides pin someone else’s stuff on Pinterest.  I definitely use Pinterest all the time, just not with any plan or purpose. Many of my favorite recipes, decor ideas, crafts, and cleaning tips are from Pinterest - but that’s as far as I ever got with it.  Now I’m designing, creating, and posting new material weekly (unless one of my angels has the stomach bug, then all bets are off). The “Specialist” part of my title should really be “self-taught, still has lots to learn, mediocre but loving the journey”.

I can definitely get bogged down and intimidated by things that I know nothing about.  It’s hard to move forward when it feels like the learning curve is so steep! BUT ~ step, by baby step, this old mom is learning some new tricks.  I love researching popular topics and creating beautiful visuals. I totally enjoy this challenge. It gives me a sense of accomplishment.

I’ve known Dr. Jesse since high school but I’ve been friends with her husband, Erik, since grade school.  One night, many years ago, Erik was planning on coming over for supper and bringing his girlfriend. It was Jesse.  The evening went well, lots of good conversation but still with some reservations. After supper we all went into our living room for coffee.  I was starting to wonder if we would ever get past the small talk. Then there was a turning point. Jesse was coming back from the bathroom and went to sit down in one of my new chairs from Ikea.  She leaned back to get comfy and tipped over instead! The whole chair, with Jesse on it, tipped straight backwards! I was completely horrified, until I heard the sound of her cackling on the floor.  We laughed until we cried and we have been great friends ever since.

Dr. Jesse is the hardest working woman I know.  She is so passionate about what she does. I am so thankful to be part of this journey with her.  I am so thankful that she gave me the opportunity to do something outside my comfort zone and allow me to grow.
