back to school

Can you believe we’re in the back to school swing already?? Whether you’re excited for back-to-school season, or feeling busier and more overwhelmed than ever, now is a great time to check in with your personal well-being and make sure you’re setting yourself up for success this fall. Check out out the 5 simple things you can start doing today.

I was able to attend Wellness Wednesday - with Well Connected Twin Cities - where I had the chance to hear Jen Wright speak on the anti - routine.

….. and took away ……

The things I was most missing on the daily.  For me, I was missing time for myself - you know, the little things like 10 minutes of silence.  I’m a person who thrives on down moments and having time to myself, and somehow in the mix of summer madness, I stopped allowing myself that time.  In listening to Jen’s advice, I’ve started getting up earlier than my kids in the morning for my coffee and time to reflect.  I’ve also started journaling - just a line or two - during that time.  In addition, I blocked out random times during my working / treating hours to be creative and alone with my thoughts.  Our business runs on creativity and thinking outside the box in regard to catering to women and offering a nurturing space - that requires making sure that we’re paying attention to detail and constantly looking at new ways to offer that within our space (both brick + mortar and online).

Our friend Jen Wright from The Driven Mama has 5 Back to School Wellness tips for Busy Moms!

One of her tips is to recommit to taking care of yourself. We see this with women in the clinic as they tend to put themselves on hold for the summer. A great way to care for yourself is to listen to your body and take care of it when it needs help! This may mean a monthly adjustment to help you stay better aligned, or maybe taking an hour to get a massage at the clinic. These are great ways to stop and take a moment for yourself. We cary so much stress in our bodies as woman, and our goal is that you would know your normal, so you can help your body stay there.

Be sure to head over to her blog to read the other 4 tips so you can stay balanced throughout the school year.
