The psoas muscle attaches both in the front and the back! Just like in adults this muscle is tight in babies - especially after birth where they spent most of their life in flexion. This is a simple stretch you can do to help improve hip range of motion of your little! Start by anchoring down the leg right in the fold between the pelvis and the thigh. Use your other hand to lift the leg up and then out. Perform on both sides! To stretch the piriformis flip the baby onto their tummy and anchor down the pelvis by placing a stabilizing hand on their backside. Then using your other hand move the leg up into flexion - perform on both sides!
