Sleeping Pillow for Neck Support : Your sleeping position is likely playing a large role in your neck and upper back pain! Try swapping out your current sleeping pillow for something more supportive. We love pillows that provide cervical support with simple contours for side and back sleepers. A foam or latex pillow that retains its shape is also a good option for women with neck pain!
Pilates Ball // Foam Roller : We love using a pilates ball or a foam roller for spinal mobility exercises. The pilates ball seems to be more versatile, as you can also use it as an exercise tool to target specific muscle groups. However, some women still prefer using a foam roller!
Magnesium Lotion : Magnesium is an effective way to reduce all types of muscle aches and pains during pregnancy and postpartum. We love recommending epsom salt baths, however, with neck and upper back pain, a magnesium lotion is a better option. You can apply magnesium lotion any where to target the exact muscle tension you are feeling.
Resistance Bands : Simple and affordable… You may need resistance bands for specific rehab exercises for your neck & upper back pain. They also nice to have on hand for home workouts!
Ice & Heat : Heat and ice therapy if a simple way to address neck & upper back tension. If you wake up, or suddenly experience neck pain - try ice! If your neck pain is consistent and achy - try heat!
Kinesiology Tape : Kinesiology tape lifts up on the outermost layer of skin to decompress the layers below it. The decompression improves blood & lymphatic flow which will reduce inflammation and promote faster healing.
Cervical Traction Device : Neck traction tools are designed to alleviate tension, stiff muscles, and soreness in your neck, upper back, & shoulders to help reduce pain, headaches, and migraines.
Nursing Pillow : If you don’t already have one, a nursing pillow is a MUST postpartum to help improve your body’s position while feeding babe.
Travel Pillow : Sleep comfortably even when you’re traveling! Using a travel neck pillow for airplane or car naps to avoid waking up with a stiff & achy neck.
