Giving Back to Postpartum Mothers!

Giving Back to Postpartum Mothers!

Mother's Day Giveback

During these unprecedented times, the heart of our clinic is to give back! We know many have suffered and experienced loss throughout these tough months.
One of the areas we’ve seen a great need in is with postpartum care. Many women have faced unfathomable changes with labor, delivery, and postpartum care. Plans have changed, family is unable to come and support these women, and there are new factors at home to work through with possibly additional children at home while trying to provide distance learning care.
Our hearts have gone out to these women. So in an effort to give back, we are partnering with Better Beginnings postpartum doula care to offer free doula services for women in need during their postpartum journey.

Here is a little information about postpartum doulas:

Postpartum doulas are non-medical, non-judgmental professionals who provide informational, physical, and emotional support in the weeks and months following childbirth. Their services are customized to address the unique needs of each woman and family.

The services include, but may not be limited to…
Nurturing of the new mother: tips to help the post-birth healing process, discussion of rest and nutrition needs, a listening ear, assistance processing the birth experience, meal or snack preparation, and caring for the needs of the home so mom can sleep or rest

Infant feeding support: training, experience, and additional resources for both breastfeeding moms and bottle-feeding parents, with additional training to support the lactation journey

New baby care education: building your confidence in the basics of infant care, such as bathing, cord care, circumcision care, dressing, cloth or disposable diapering, infant soothing techniques, and patterns and habits to establish good baby sleep

Family adjustment: support for the whole family’s adjustment to life with new baby, including partners, siblings, and pets

Meal preparation: a home-cooked meal made fresh and ready-to-eat

Household care: laundry, linens, sweeping, vacuuming, dishes, light cleaning, plant care, pet care, dog walking, and errand-running

Sibling care: care for older children so that parents and baby can rest and bond

We are going to raise funds to support women during these next few weeks by offering them hourly in home doula care. To purchase a gift certificate head here:
